Alyssa gave an excellent homecoming talk in our Sacrament Meeting. She talked about her relationship with the Savior and His Atonement and our own personal conversions. She shared many examples from her mission and scriptures that helped us apply the message. I may be a bit biased but you could feel and see that she was a powerful missionary. Here is a link to the audio version of her talk:
Her sister, Brianna, surprised her by performing a musical number during the program. She played her cello and there were also 2 violins and a viola. They played "I'll Go Where You Want to Me To Go", a special composition written by one of our ward members. Here is a link to listen to the musical number:
Many people came to support Alyssa on this day. There were former missionary companions, family from all over, President and Sister Welch, families of her companions, ward members, friends from all different parts of her life, and our friends too. I felt such love and support all around. It was one of those days that where your heart is full and you just feel so grateful for everything.
For the open house we had pulled pork sandwiches, salads and cookies. We brought back several different types of candy from Japan for all to try. We set up a display table with various items from Japan that were gifts to her or had special meanings. We enjoyed visiting with so many people. Here are just a few photos of people that day.
